Flisat Table Idea:  Construction Play

Earlier this month, I was looking through Instagram for some Flisat Table ideas and I came upon The Daily Dig account.  This account is all things digging and construction and dinos and FUN!  I love looking through it for cool ideas.  I have two kids that are obsessed with digging in the dirt and my son can tell you about any construction truck out there.  Anyway, she was encouraging others to participate in a #canyoudigitday.  Also, there’s another one coming up in July!

Um, I’m sorry, yes please…I’d like to participate!  So I did.

What I used:

  • Pinto Beans
  • A thrifted Jenga Set
  • Construction Trucks
  • Wine Corks
  • Paper Towel Rolls
  • Collected Rocks
  • Vase Filler Objects

I also made my own dough.  I didn’t follow a recipe, which is very me.  I threw some coffee grounds, flour, corn starch and water together in a bowl until I liked the consistency.  These were my approximate measurements:

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of coffee grounds
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • Drizzle in water until you like the consistency

Here was my post on Instagram

After this was done, we had beans and coffee dirt everywhere, but it was really fun for them.

We use this splat mat to keep our carpet clean.

Also, if it gets on your carpet and you get a stain, this carpet stain remover is literally life changing! It got day old, set in slime out of our light gray carpet.  Also, my son decided it would be cool to smear his chocolate hands all over my mom’s white couch.  I called my husband and said bring the Folex over when you drive over later.  It got it all out.  I’m serious, if you have kids you need Folex.
